Am Can Ch Berlane N Bravo Hear Me Roar A/C DOM AmLOM
DOB: March 22/02-August 14/10Sabrina's son "Justice" had been sniffing Sabrina alot. We thought it was just a boy dog thing, but when we watched him, he was actually sniffing her tummy. He was so interested, he would lift her off the ground. I guess we should have realized he knew something we didn't. Sabrina stopped eating and her gums were extremly pale. I knew there must be something terribly wrong, as Sabrina never missed a meal in her life. An x-ray showed fluid in her abdomen, which turned out to be blood and an ultrasound revealed a heamangiosarcoma. Sabrina had some bad days along the way, but we were blessed with 4 more wonderful weeks with Sabrina. Eventually her stomach got so full of blood, she was showing pain and her eyes told me, she had had enough.

Sabrina was the foundation of "Rikar"(formerly "Bravo") boxers and what a producer she was! In 2017, she attained her "AMERICAN LEGION OF MERIT" status with her 3 Am Producers (Sherman, Justice, Wyatt)! We owe so much to Sabrina and the legacy she left us with!
When the Berry's and Sandy Resch bred their beautiful plain girl "Aimie" to "Sabre", I just knew that I had to look into getting a puppy. When I look back, it was one of the best decisions I could have made!!
Sabrina was an incredibly active puppy to say the least. When I would leave for work, Sabrina would be in her crate in the living room beside Sabre's bed. When I came home, she had bounced it from one end of the living room, into the kitchen, make a 90 degree turn and be there waiting for me at the back door when I got home. Sabrina did this for months until I met my husband Rick. We were out for a date and came home to Sabrina under the Christmas tree with a string of mini lights in her crate. Rick then suggested we may want to bungy her crate to the baseboard, so she couldn't go so far. Boy, was she mad when we did this, but eventually accepted the fact that her "travelling" days were over!!
Sabrina did everything with such ambition and determination. At shows, if you were not watching her, she would try to eat the pockets of others to get to the bait. She would even try under the skirts of ladies to see if a pocket was under there! It was a bit embarrassing at times. Sabrina was a great show dog...anything for the food.
I didn't special Sabrina much, but she was very competitive when she was out. She was a group winner and earned two "Award of Merit" wins and several "Dam and Progeny" and "Veteran" wins. Her time in the ring, was very rewarding, but where Sabrina REALLY excelled, was as a Mommy.
Sabrina became a DOM in both Canada and the U.S and her get certainly got rewarded in the show rings themselves! Sabrina was bred three times and like her father "Sabre", proved to be a very consistent producer.

Our last day was spent lying in the sun together on the deck and we had a slow small walk around the property, that she so loved to guard. During her last few hours she had her three kids Justice, Macy and Simon all around her and she had the sun shining down on her. She seemed so content to be warm and have everyone who was important to her, all around. Even when is was time to get in the truck for her last trip to the vet, she wagged her tail and jumped in happily. Sabrina`s fire in her spirit came out at that moment, but I knew it was only going to last a short time. She was very sick but still was so excited to be the chosen one for a car ride.
I thought losing Sabre would be the most difficult loss to get over, but losing Sabrina, who was my foundation and went through so much to give us such beautiful babies, was equally as hard. Although Sabrina was a handful in her younger years, she had grown to be the sweetest and most gentle girl. We miss her gentle nature, but most of all her sweet grey face looking up at us. Her spot in our bed is empty now and everywhere I look in our house, I expect her to be there.
I know Sabrina is with her Daddy now and he will keep her safe until the day comes when we will all be together again.
Thank you Sabrina for giving us your beautiful babies, but most of all for your love.
Rest in peace "Beans". You truly were a gift!
